Who am I?
I am Denis DNT, my brothers and sisters call me Big D, in a way to say big brother Denis. Some friends now call it too. Students have given me a chinese name Li Xiaolong. How they thought about giving me such a name, I will discuss that on another page on this blog.
I studied drama with the dream of becoming an actor but couldn’t stay longer in the career because of reasons beyond my control. I switched to teaching, saying to myself: “I will make a little money and quit next September” only to find myself writing this after 10years mmh! How time flies. It’s been exciting. A long road from Lycee Bilingue de Bankim (1998) to College Protestant de Ngaoundere, Lycee Classique, The New Zealand – Edinburg Institute, Yan La Primary School, Aihua Foreign Language academy, Modern English Beijing, Morgan English, KISB, Xiang Ming Middle School and currently Mars English – Chinatop (2008).
The road stops have had hosts of different nature; the kind, the strict, the welcoming and the hard. The students have been wonderful, from kindergarten through primary to University graduates and working class. From my youngest student (Simon Kim – Korean, 2years) to my oldest (Richard – Chinese, 68years) I have had a lot to learn.
Hey, this sounds like one about to quit. No, I will quit next September and then continue this story to the conclusion.
Until then, have fun!
It’s time for class.
Big D.
